Real Cases Handled by Attorney Justin Curcio

Introducing a series of cases handled by Attorney Justin Curcio. These examples underscore the importance of skilled legal representation in personal injury matters, ensuring that clients receive the compensation they rightfully deserve. Without legal representation, individuals may accept inadequate settlements that fail to address the full extent of their damages.

T-Boned in Intersection- Defense Fights Back

A women T-boned in intersection on Lee Highway in Arlington suffered a fracture and ligament tear to her right hand as a result of the auto accident. The other driver “thought” he had a greenlight but an eyewitness testified that the defendant ran the red light and entered the intersection with no evidence of braking. The defense also tried to claim that the ligament tear pre-existed the crash and had to have been caused by a previous injury. However, there was no evidence presented of a previous injury and the jury returned a verdict for $492,564.94 + interest from date of crash. Curcio Law attorneys successfully argued the case, highlighting the discrepancies in the defendant’s counter argument and leveraging the compelling testimony of the eyewitness.

Woman Struck by Work Van While on a Walk- Doesn’t Take First Offer

A woman was walking in her neighborhood when she was struck by a work van making a U-turn. She developed a Morel-Lavallée lesion, a type of injury where the skin and the tissue beneath it get separated from the deeper layers, but there’s no obvious cut or tear on the outside. Her injury required drainage and a surgery. She was hospitalized for three days, and on crutches for several weeks afterwards. The carrier of the commercial work van initially offered a nominal amount pre-suit. However, on the advice of personal injury attorney Justin Curcio, the injured party did not accept and filed a lawsuit. The offer increased substantially and ultimately settled for $275,000.

Poorly Placed Display Crates Creates a Tripping Hazard – Store Doesn’t Want to Take Responsibility

A woman was entering a 7-Eleven in March 2020, when the country first began locking down for COVID-19. 7-Eleven placed several six-inch crates by the entrance of the store to sell “Emergency Water,” which were not visible from the outside. Our client walked into the store and immediately tripped over these crates and suffered a ruptured bursa in the elbow and sustained damage to the ulnar nerve. Surgery was performed to relieve pressure the injury placed on the ulnar nerve. After treatment was complete, we provided a demand to the store’s insurance carrier, however, no offers were made prelitigation, forcing us to file a lawsuit. Shortly after Personal Injury attorney Justin Curcio served the defendant, the case resolved and a $100,000 dollar settlement was reached.
