We are currently a sponsor for the Center for Alexandria’s Children annual gala to raise awareness on ending child abuse. It’s called Banding Together: A Benefit Concert to END Child Abuse.

Recently Tom and Rakin delivered lunch to our good friend and firefighter Jesse Torberg, along with his fellow firefighters and EMTs at Fire Station #209 in Alexandria, to thank them for their dedication and service to the community. We were all smiles behind our masks!

As long-standing trial lawyers in Alexandria, we appreciate the valuable services our Sheriffs provide to all those working and using our local courts, including the judges, court employees, and the public. Recently we delivered lunch to the Alexandria Sheriff’s Office as a small token of our appreciation.

This winter Curcio Law participated in the VTLA Young Trial Lawyers Boot Camp. This 4-week boot camp focused on the practical aspects of being a successful trial attorney. Every week a prominent Northern Virginia law firm would host the group of new trial attorneys. Our associate, Rakin Hamad, participated in the boot camp and our firm hosted the last session of the Boot Camp. Tom Curcio was one of the esteemed speakers and gave a presentation on how to “Build Your Brand as a Young Lawyer.” The Boot Camp was a great opportunity for the new attorneys to learn and meet their colleagues and Curcio Law was happy to support.

The race benefits several non-profit organizations, including Autism Speaks, Back on my Feet, Runningbrooke, Capital Area Food Bank, and Leukemia Lymphoma Society Team in Training. Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership (HOBY)

HOBY is a leadership conference started by Hugh O’Brian, the TV actor known for portraying Wyatt Earp. He was influenced by humanitarian Dr. Albert Schweitzer during a 9 day volunteer trip to Africa and upon returning to the States, wanted to create something to teach young people to think for themselves through service and leadership. Thus the leadership conference was created, and now thousands of high school sophomores, including Michael, one of Tom’s sons, and Ally, our receptionist, learn about their own leadership skills and how to best utilize them. Since then, Curcio Law has been an avid supporter of HOBY and sent Ally to the Virginia Conference this year to share her talents and inspire students to promote leadership and service in their communities.
