We proudly joined the Injury Board Day of Action to bring smiles and comfort to children battling rare diseases. To help brighten their long hospital stays, Curcio Law donated $500 worth of LEGO sets, puzzles, blocks, teddy bears, and coloring books—small gifts of hope to bring a little joy during challenging times.
Justin and Tom rolled up their sleeves and joined the 2023 Injury Board Day of Action initiative by participating in a blood drive at INOVA, to do their part to help address the critical blood shortage nationwide.
Tom is a returning guest speaker at the annual IB Summits.
Justin was presented a CLE on GDC trials for Alexandria Bar Association 2024 CLE marathon.
Rakin moderated several VTLA panels and discussions, to include “a pioneer in truck accident law” and “Young Lawyer Advocacy” at University of Richmond.
Rakin co-chaired and presented at the 2024 VTLA Advanced Paralegal Retreat.

Rakin had the privilege to meet with Alexandria City High School’s 12th-grade AP Government class and delve into the intricacies of the 4th Amendment as part of the Titan Law Program, thanks to the Alexandria Bar Foundation.

It’s important to make sure you have that floor, to make sure when you take a step forward, there’s no step back.”
In 2024, Tom had the opportunity to speak to high school students in the business law class at Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria. Tom highlighted actions they can take now to prepare for a legal career, shared some noteworthy experiences from his own career, and covered a topic close to his heart—distracted driving.
Tom is passionate about educating everyone about safety, especially young people when it comes to the dangers of distracted driving. Here is a video of the “End Distracted Driving” presentation he recorded as part of Curcio Law’s sponsorship of the Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) program at Bishop Ireton High School. He has given this presentation to thousands of people since 2017 on behalf of enddd.org.

Every month, Tom shares the dangers of distracted driving to new drivers and their parents or legal guardians at the Alexandria Juvenile Domestic Relations court. In this educational, informative and inspiring talk, Tom includes the sobering statistics of the current safety crisis related to Distracted Driving, shares stories of the costs of Distracted Driving, and offers simple steps that drivers (and passengers) of all ages can use immediately to help everyone around them End Distracted Driving. The goal is to provide the information they need to make the right choices when behind the wheel. At the conclusion of the session, new drivers receive their Virginia driver’s license.
