The Virginia Trial Lawyers Association is a voluntary bar association established in 1959, dedicated to enhancing the knowledge, skills and professionalism of trial lawyers and committed to improving the law and the fairness of Virginia’s system of justice. VTLA has approximately 2,000 members across the Commonwealth, representing clients in a large number of practice areas. The Association works to educate the public about the role of trial lawyers and the importance of the jury in our justice system. Tom, and the entire Curcio Law team, is very active in the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. Tom has been an active member of the Board for 30 years.

- Rakin Hamad is currently serving as the Chair of the VTLA Young Lawyer Section.
- University of Richmond School of Law Young Lawyer Advocacy Panel & Networking Reception. Rakin Hamad, moderator and Vice-Chair of the Young Lawyer’s Committee.
- Justin Curcio‘s was a speaker at the recent Virginia Trial Lawyers Association Young Lawyers Retreat. Collaborating with co-presenter M. Barkley Horn, they presented valuable insights in a session titled “Primer on GDC Cases from Start to Finish.”
- Virginia Trial Lawyers Association’s Paralegal Seminar.
- Thomas Curcio, 2023 VTLA-VADA Civility and Professionalism Award winner and served as President in 2014-2015. He has been on the Executive Council for the last few years as well.
